How do you test packaging with a small headspace?
Headspaces are sometimes very small, leaving little gas volume for a complete analysis, particularly when the product is present.
If the product is close to the probe or sampling needle, there is a risk of pollution of the analyser circuit and its sensors, which can block the pump.
ABISS mid-range and high-end analysers are equipped with a flow control system that guarantees the operator that the gas is flowing correctly through the analyser, for the most delicate applications with a small headspace.
Depending on the rigidity of the packaging and the difficulty of extraction, the pumping time is also adjustable to ensure that all the volume required to excite the sensors has been transported into the analyser. This makes it possible to take accurate measurements in applications such as coffee capsules.
From the Stratos range onwards, the electrochemical sensors used for O2 rival zirconia sensors in terms of speed and allow operational measurement in comparable times.
Anéolia also offers a wide range of needles of all sizes, enabling the puncture to be adjusted through the packaging film.
